Automated Systems, Inc. doesn’t just tackle automation and robotics – we also design and manufacture a wide variety of conveyors and carts for transporting materials and handling anything that would be too heavy to lift or requires special handling. Our material handling equipment ranges from gravity conveyors to custom-fabricated carts and everything in between.
Between the various steps of production, specific tasks may be necessary – moving unfinished materials from one conveyor to another, carrying them to further processing, temporary storage, or to any other process step. ASI develops innovative equipment that improves the throughput of these materials, reduces labor costs, improves operator safety and efficiency, and smoothly bridges any gaps between production operations.
Case Studies in Material Handling Equipment
Transporting material and handling each part individually doesn’t necessarily require full automation — but a little assistance can go a long way. Here are some examples of work that ASI has previously undertaken.
Manual Rollover Cart
Sometimes, the best approach is to do things manually, as is the case in this example. Our customer wanted to simplify their work on heavy stators, so we manufactured a cart that could be used to rotate the stator with ease, allowing work to be completed on all sides of the part.
Custom Carts for Ease of Use
One of our specialties at ASI is in custom carts for transportation throughout our clients’ facilities. These carts are custom-designed and built to meet particular material and handling needs, and improve ease of use. For instance, we built one cart solely for moving torque converters throughout the client’s facility, and another cart that could handle a specific size of square pallet, regardless of the contents of the pallets themselves.
Powered Roller Conveyors
We’ve developed several custom roller conveyors over the years, each tailored to a specific container size or weight. As with all our custom fabrications, we ensure that each system is tailored to its purpose.
Belt Conveyors for Boxes
Although our belt conveyors initially developed as a system for moving tires, we have since adjusted our designs to accommodate boxes of various sizes. We’ve designed and manufactured a variety of conveyors for our customers, ranging from light-duty belt conveyors used between operator stations to heavy-duty conveyors that move materials towards packaging.
